Me and one of my friends were talking and the subject came into my past relationships.
I told her that one of my ex was the one who approached me, and I didn't start loving her until a few weeks into the relationship. It took a while for her to finally understand it did, and we lasted for more than a year. While she(my friend) claims that this kind of relationship wouldn't last, I think otherwise. I was the one doing a lot of initiative during our relationship, and I was the one ended up having to try and patch things up when she wanted to end the relationship.
So naturally I asked around for some opinions from others which go lihe this, "Should someone only go into a relationship where both parties share the same feeling, or do you think we shall adopt the 'better to have loved and lost than have never loved at all" stance?"
And why do I have a crush on every girl who show the slightest interest in me (she hasn't, sadly ).
Well, while I didn't place any expectations on the answers, some of them suprised my alot.
Do we even have a mutual feeling of love in the frst place? I doubt you will look at a beautiful girl like Salma Hayek and go "hhmmm, what a fun time we will have when she's cleaning the table and I sit there wondering what's on T.V".. well, then again come to think of it I won't bet my life on it.. But I think we get the general idea here, no?
Is lust the first thing that comes to every guys mind when they look at a girl and decides that yes, I can see both of us being together ? I prefer to say no, but as a guy I totally understand what my frien said when he mentions that "love at first sight exist, but lust at first sight does". As much as it sounds silly, perverted or eeewww depending on your gender, this I can say is quite true to a certain extend.
Then again I've met with a girl who just rubs off me the right way, as I may rate 10 other girls more sexier than her, but when I'm forced to choose, I'd rather have her than others. Substance over style I guess. So I'm stuck here again wondering whether you should jump into any ready relation with a girl because, well I won't say desperate... but eerr.... you don't want to break her heart :p ? Or do you wait until everyone can see that you are in err.. 'love' before starting on the journey to happiness, small giggles and silly arguments?
While I believe that starting on a platform of mutual feelings does have it advantages, I won't put the "kiss first, love later" approach as a dud either. How can you beat the sense of excitement going into a relationship where it would be a dream come true or a total disaster? It'll be like going on a newly opened roller coaster. And I like roller coasters.
Tired, friends came over and we had a footie tourney on PS2 until 6am. Now it's proper time to sleep and all I think.
